Grandma Howell's Spiced Tang

My Grandma Howell would always make this drink when I was at her house on a cold winter day. The other day I just decided I would hunt down the recipe because I was having one of those pregnancy cravings and wanted something warm to warm me up. This is such a easy recipe and it is so yummy. My mom said that my Grandma would sometimes call this Russian Tea. You can call it what ever you want but I will just call it Amazing!

This is all you need to make this Holiday Treat

2 Cups of Tang

1 3oz Sweetened Lemonade Mix

1 1/2 Cups of Sugar

Tsp of Cinimon

1/2 Tsp of Ground Cloves

Mix it all up and you will have enough mix to to keep you warm for a few weeks.

We have found we like to mix 2 Tablespoons to one cup of hot water. That gives you just enough spice to warm you up. Enjoy!

As always please let me know how you like it.

Super Fast and Easy Taco Soup

I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post. To my defense I have had a lot of things going on in my life. We moved into a beautiful home and have been busy getting ready for the little baby boy that will be joining out family soon. This has been one of the busiest months I can remember. That is no excuse I really need to make the time to post and update the blog. So to all my friends and family that follow the blog I promise to do better.

To celebrate the fact that I am finding some time to set down and blog I am going to post a super fast Taco Soup recipe that should help free up some time for you as well. This recipe consists of browning hamburger and dumping a bunch of cans in a pot so there is no excuses with this easy meal.

This is all you need:

1 lb. hamburger

1 package Taco Seasoning

1 can of Kidney Beans

1 can of Garbanzo Beans

1 can Italian Stewed Tomatoes

1 can of Corn

1 can of diced Green Chlies

1 can of diced Black Olives

1 Jar of Salsa

Sour Cream, Tortila Chips, and Cheese to top

Now here is the easiest soup recipe you will ever come across. Brown Hamburger, drain, and add Taco Seasoning. In a big pot mix the remaining ingredients, and do not drain any of them. Thats right just pour them all in and warm it all up.

Now add the Hamburger, warm it all up and you are done. Top your bowls of soup with Sour Cream, Chips, and Cheese. I told you it is easy, but I promise you it will taste like you were slaving away to prepare it. As always if you try this recipe let me know what you think in the comments below.

Remix: Chicken & Stuffing Manicotti

This is actually the very first recipe that I ever put on my blog. It was the first part of December when I made it last. I decided that I wanted to share it again so all my new friends would be able to try it. It is just yummy and my kids love it. This time I had Brandon take a few pictures so you can see this recipe in action. This is what you will need...

1 (8oz) box of Manicotti or Jumbo Shells (Jumbo shells are actually easier for me to fill and they work great)

1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup

1 (16oz) box of Stove Top Stuffing Mix

6 boneless Chicken Breasts, cooked and cubed

2 cups of grated cheddar cheese

1 1/2 cups of sour cream

Boil the Manicotti or Jumbo Shells for 12 min; brain and cool. I use the Jumbo shells because it is so much easier for me to fill them. When I use Manicotti I always stuff them to full and they just break on me.

Prepare stuffing according to the box instructions. Mix together soup, sour cream and 1 cup of cheese. Reserve 1 cup mixture and set aside.

Combine chicken, stuffing, soup/cheese mixture and stuff shells with mixture. Pour remaining soup mixture over manicotti and sprinkle with 1 cup cheese.

Bake @ 350 for 30 min.

If you try it let me know how it turns out in the comments below. My kids love this one so I know your family will love it!
