My Special Walmart Birthday

I have to  tell you this story because it is one of the funniest Birthdays I have ever had. It was my 26th birthday. I was very pregnant at the time with my first baby. I actually had Peyton nine days later. I woke up and Brandon was rushing around to get to work and didn't even remember to tell me Happy Birthday. I thought it must have slipped his mind but I thought for sure he would remember by lunch.

I got all ready and put on my cutest maternity outfit and was trying to look my best because I was sure he would take me out to lunch on my birthday. He came home for lunch made a sandwich and rushed off to work again. By this time I had decided that he had truly forgot it was my birthday. My mom and sister even tried to call him and drop him a hint to help him remember but he never answered his phone.

Brandon came right home from work put on his pajamas and turned on the TV. When he changed his clothes I knew there was not hope for him. He was not going to remember my birthday. So I cooked some dinner and just sat down with him and watched TV.

Brandon's brother Karson called at 8:30 and asked to talk to me and instantly Brandon hung up the phone on him and said "Nicole its your Birthday!" He then said, "Lets go to Walmart and I will buy you anything you want!" This is by far one of our favorite inside jokes. So every birthday I am reminded that I can have anything I want at Walmart. To Brandon's credit he has never forgot another special day, but he will never live down that special Walmart birthday.

This is just such an amazing story. I think that everyone could learn a lot from Alex. Big things start form very small and simple beginnings.

I was a guest on the TV show The Doctors

So I absolutely love the show The Doctors. I have told Brandon all the time that I wanted to send in questions in that I have had when I am watching the show. I am always filling Brandon in at lunch about topics they have talked about. It is the one show that I make an effort to try watch every day.

A few weeks ago we received an email form one of the Producers of the show. He wanted to do a show about a blind mom. He found me because of my Blog. What are the odds that he would find me! I was so exited. Because I watch the show it made me even more happy to be asked to be a part it. I got the email Late on a Thursday July 28 They came to my house and filmed Brandon and I with the kids on Wednesday August 3. It was a lot of fun. Then the next thing I knew I was on a Jet on the way to Hollywood to film on the set on August 11th. It has been a complete whirlwind of excitement.

I at this point can't share anything that happened on the show or anything we talked about. I would really love to share it all but at this point you will just have to wait and see the episode. It should be on some time in September, but I will be sure to keep you all posted on the details.

What I can  tell you is that it was a great experience. We had a chance to meet some really great people. The cast, crew, producers, and staff were all amazing. They made me feel like family and took just great care of us while we were there. I want to send out a big thank you to all of them. You are a class act. Everyone involved in the show deserves a big pat on the back for the job you do and the lives you touch.
