German Pancakes (Hootenanny Pancakes)
Made this for breakfast today and thought I would share it on the Blog. This is a family favorit for breakfast. This is a recipe Brandon's mom always made for him. They called them German Pancakes, but many people call them Hootenanny Pancakes. I dont care what you want to call them they are delicious. Brandon always asks me to make them. They are very easy, quick, and a great change for breakfast.
This is all you need to have to make this yummy breakfast:
6 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 Cup Flour
1 Cube Butter
Combine eggs, milk and salt and beat with a whisk until it is fluffy. Add flour a little at a time, and whisk until it is mixed well and there are no clumps.
Melt cube of margarin in a 9 x13 inch baking pan in the oven at 425 degrees. Then the margarin is melted and bubbly pour in the batter and immediately return to the oven.
Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. The pancakes will puff up and be crazy and uneven when they are done. Your kids will love to watch them raise as they cook. When you take them out they will fall. Server immediately with warm syrup. They are not as good warmed up so eat up and finish off the whole batch. That should not be a problem because they are so yummy.
I love to have this with sausage and bacon. My kids go crazy for them. They are really easy and taste great. Enjoy, and as always let me know in the comments how you like them.
