Welcome to my little piece of the World Wide Web...

My name is Nicole Rasmussen. I am excited to be able to share my feelings about life, faith, and family. I am a blind wife and mother of four wonderful children. I think that in some ways I would rather take a Calculus Class than write a blog, but I will give it a shot. I hope that I can share my experiences, trials and testimony with all that find their way to my site.

As a blind mom I have a lot of unique fears and challenges that a sited mother may not experience. At first I was scared out of my mind to have kids. When I first lost my vision I thought all of my dreams of motherhood were shattered. I didn't think that I could become the mother I had always hoped to be. I made the decision that I would not allow my disability to get in the way of my happiness. I love to be a mother, and my life revolves around my husband and kids. I hope as you follow my blog that you can laugh, cry, and experience with me what it is like being a blind mom.

A Few Things You May Want To Know...

I am a 40 something mother of four beautiful kids. I have a loving husband who is the love of my life. I love my kids and the crazy adventures they bring into my life. They keep me running from the moment I wake up until the moment I can wrestle them into bed.

I have not always been blind. I lost my vision in the summer of 2001. It is a really long and emotional story for me to tell. I will try to share parts of my story in my blog, and ask my husband to fill in the blanks. It is a story I would not believe if I had not lived it myself.

I was on the NBC TV Show Three Wishes that was hosted by Amy Grant in 2005. My husband made an amazing wish for me and it was granted. Here is the Link to the Episode.

My blog has given me some amazing opportunities.  I was asked to be a guest on the hit TV Show The Doctors where we got to share an amazing surprise with our family

I try to share my story and testimony as much as I can. I feel that it has given me an amazing opportunity to help others who are going through trials and hardships. I also love to share my love of cooking with other mothers.

Our trials have defiantly made our life interesting and given us some amazing opportunities and experiences.  We have had our share of heartache, and seen our share of miracles at the same time. It has brought us closer to each other and helped us to have a better appreciation of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that it is only with his help that we have had the strength to pass through the trials we have been asked to bare.
