Elf on the Shelf: Day 3, 2012

I am sure that it is no surprise that tentions between my husband and our Christmas Elf Kevin are a little high right now. I think Kevin was trying to get back on Brandon's good side with this little Star Wars prank. My husband and my son Kai love Star Wars, so I think this will help ease the mood after the close shave we had yesterday.

Kai was the first one to find Kevin today. He was so excited. Kai is our Star Wars kid. Like father like son I guess. As soon as he found him he started to laugh and came running to get Brandon. When Brandon surveyed the our Elf's reenactment of the battle of Hoth he said, "I always thought Kevin was on the Dark Side". I think I have to agree with him. Our Elf defiantly has a naughty side for sure. I just never know what will happen next!

Elf on the Shelf: Day 2, 2012

I just cant stop laughing about what our Christmas Elf Kevin did today. Not just because the trick he played was funny, but because of the completely hilarious situation it put my husband Brandon in. I will never be able to say my hubby is not willing to take one for the team, because he proved his worth at 4 am this morning.

This is what Brandon woke up to find in the mirror today. Kevin our little Christmas Elf had decided that his Christmas beard had to go. We had a little emergency at 4 am and I had to send Brandon to Walmart to get Infant Formula for the baby. He jumped right out of bed and took off to Walmart not thinking one second about the Elf or the prank he had pulled. When he got out of the Van to go into Walmart he realized he had a problem.

He could run back home and shave off the rest of his beard and totally ruin our Elves little prank, or just face the fear of being the next victim of the People of Walmart web site. So he decided to not ruin this little Christmas prank and be brave and just walk right in like he owned the place. He went to the baby food section and ran into a worker stocking shelves first. He said her eyes almost poped out of her head. Then he went down the baking isle to pick up something else I needed. There he meet four workers stocking shelves. They all looked on in amazement. Then he was so happy to see a self check was open. He thought this would keep him from having any more gazes. His luck just plain ran out. The Baby Formula would not weigh right and a worker had to come help him. She tried really hard not to bust out laughing. She was having trouble getting the checkout to work and called over another worker who gasped and tried to hold in her giggles. He finally got checked out and came home. Then he told me his tail and we both just died laughing. I am so proud of him. He would rather be completely humiliated and laughed at than spoil our little Elf and his tricks for your children. I have a keeper!

Our kids woke up to giggles at a half shaved Dad and all the pictures in the house all having half a mustache on them.

The kids loved it, and begged Brandon to go to work like that.

I think that this is one of the funniest experiences we have had with our little Elf. Every time the kids would look at their Dad they would just break into full giggle attacks. I love Brandon for being a good sport, and I love our Elf Kevin for keeping things fun around our house during Christmas.

Elf on the Shelf: Day 1, 2012

He's Back! Kevin our little Christmas Elf is back and up to his normal shenanigans. Kevin has been visiting our house at Christmas time the past three years. It is hard to believe that this will be the forth year that Kevin has been pulling pranks and spying on our kids for Santa. The kids have been wondering when he might show up. They have been so Naughty the past few days my husband and I have been hoping it would be sooner than later. I think they need a little incentive to be good right now.

Kaison and baby Carter woke up first today and came in and got in bed with us to watch cartoons. While Kai was in bed he noticed  something strange about the pictures just out side of our bedroom.

There was mustaches painted on the pictures of Bandon and I. We asked Kai if it was him and he said that it must have been Peyton. In this picture you can see a little Elf on the Shelf Doll that Kai wanted us to buy. We got a stuffed toy one for the kids to play with. We thought that would help curb the temptation of them wanting to touch our real little Elf. Who knows we may have just introduced another partner in crime for our crazy Elf.

Kaison got a big laugh seeing his mom and dad with funny facial hair. I dont think he realized that he was about to see that the joke was on him as well.

Peyton finally got out of bed and went to get in the tub. That was when we realized that Kevin was back. About that time Kai realized that it must have been Kevin that was responsable for the mustaches on mom and dads pictures.

The Kids found a mustache on every picture in the house. The more they looked for Kevin the more they found.

Every time they found a new moustache they would bust up into  laughter, but they could not find that crazy little Elf.

Kevin taged every picture and mirror he could find in the house.

After about 20 min of searching Peyton finally found our little Christmas trouble maker. When they found him they were surprised to find that he had another surprise waiting...

He had a mustache as well. I sure hope Kevin can keep the kids in line and make sure they are off the Naughty list by Christmas. Let the fun begin!
